Covering an area of some 300
square kilometres makes North Cyprus one of the largest Eastern
Mediterranean islands¸ enjoying the climate of long hot summers and short
mild winters.
Combine the countries natural beauty lovely climate¸ friendliness of the
people and the slower pace of living¸ it is understandable that those who
live or visit Cyprus property here know it as the unspoiled jewel of the
Mediterranean.
Dating back to the 12th century the British have had interests in the
island¸ and still to the present day with British being adopted by the
Northern Cypriot government¸ makes easier and smoother transition to a
warm welcome to British visitors or residents as English is widely spoken.

What is happening in Northern Cyprus?
Northern Cyprus is fast becoming the place to invest and live, due to the
low cost of living and the prices of property. Apart from the individuals
investing for their holiday homes, there are many major companies
investing in tourism and infrastructure projects.
The new 18 hole international Korineum golf course is now
open, this is set on the hills of Esentepe overlooking the Mediterranean
coastline, and only 20 minutes drive east is the main town of Kyrenia.
The news of the golf course has brought much interest and many
developments around the area such as apartment complexes and villas.
Further east, though still in Esentepe there is land that is situated on
the coast and is planned to be hotel and marina.
Still in the east, Bacheli, there has been planning permission granted for
in excess of a 350 berth yachting marina.
Only fifteen minutes drive south of the bustling city of Famagusta there
is a village called Bafra, here there are millions of pounds being spent,
five-star Artemis Temple Hotel is open, offering the capacity in excess of
1400 beds and will house the largest casino in Europe in the basement
area, along with this there are a further five hotels that are being
constructed along the coastline, all the infrastructure is in place and
palm trees line the route from the village to the sandy beaches.
Guzelyurt, forty five miles west of Kyrenia, there is a University that is
currently under construction, this will house approximately 30,000
students and will be one of the largest in Europe.
There are many other developments in Kyrenia, such as the opening of the
new hotels, Malpas and Mercure, also work is well on its way with the
Kyrenia bypass and also a new road from Tatlisu to Geticikale.
